GGP CZ seeks to hire a post-doctoral researcher
GGP CZ seeks to hire a post-doctoral researcher to join the national GGP team.
The successful candidate will participate in the organization of the GGP in Czechia, especially in the implementation of the GGS survey (locally known as “Contemporary Czech Family Survey”). This includes continuous survey data quality monitoring and assessment and designing/implementing a programme of methodological research and innovation that should serve to improve GGS data quality and survey feasibility. S/he will be (partially) responsible for fundraising activities and will contribute to the development of long-term plan of strategic and methodological development; s/he will use the GGS data for methodological and/or substantive research.
GGP CZ is a national node of The Generations and Gender Programme (GGP), a multinational research infrastructure devoted to the study of population and family dynamics. GGP CZ is based at Masaryk university (Brno, Czechia).
Initial appointment is for one year; contract is renewable conditional upon satisfactory performance and funding.
Starting date: negotiable, but ideally no later than January 1, 2026.
FTE: 100 % (negotiable).
Salary: up to 90.000,- CZK (approx. 3.600,-- EURO) per month (before taxes) depending on experience and skill.
Location requirement: There is no location requirement for the initial appointment. For an extension we would prefer the candidate to be able to regularly participate in the life of the department and be able to be physically present there at least two days each week.

QUALIFICATIONS
The appointee shall hold a doctoral degree, for example in demography, sociology, data science, survey methodology or statistics.
Strong background in quantitative (social) science. Familiarity with STATA (or Python/R). Significant international experience (working in an academic/research position for 2+ years outside of Czechia) and experience with survey data collection is expected.
To successfully attend to the duties of the position, the appointee must have good command of English. Knowledge of the Czech language is not required.
