A new leaflet with the results of the “Contemporary Czech Family” study focuses on the contraceptive behavior of women in the Czech Republic. The analysis shows how this behavior changed between 2008 and 2022.
In 2008, the hormonal contraceptive method in the form of a pill was at the peak of its popularity in the Czech Republic - it was used by 76% of women aged 18-27. With increasing age, its popularity gradually decreased, to 45% among women in the age group 28-37 and to 36% among women aged 38-49. In 2022, the use of hormonal contraception in the form of a pill is significantly lower. On the contrary, between 2008 and 2022, the popularity of other methods increased, such as the use of condoms, interrupted intercourse or the method of fertile and infertile days.
