Decreasing fertility plans between 2020-2022

A significant decrease in short-term and long-term fertility plans occurred among young people aged 18-39 between 2020 and 2022, when the data collection of the first wave of the "Contemporary Czech Family" (Czech GGS-II) took place. In 2022, respondents indicated that they wanted to have a child in the next three years and in the more distant future less often than in 2020.

Conditions and motivations for parenthood

Family lives of young people are a topic that arouses the attention of the public and the media. In the new leaflet, we focused on how young people think about parenthood, what effect the birth of a child would have on their lives, and whether they believe that in the coming years they will have fulfilled the conditions that are generally considered to be important for starting a family.
