The GGP expanding its activities.
In the last years, the GGP went through a crisis caused by underfinancing and lack of staff in many participating countries as well as within the Central Coordination Team. The Czech Republic, as a representant of this crisis, conducted the last wave of data collection in 2008. However, new structure of financing and more stable sources of funding for Research Infrastructures seems to be a beginning of a bright future of the project. The GGP thus confirmed itself as a unique source of valuable data, which currently does not have competitors in its field. As a result, former participants have been joined by many new countries. The Czech node will be hosted by Masaryk University, which will evolve the cooperation with Charles University on this project.

According to the Contemporary Czech Family project (Czech GGS-II), part-time work is not common in the Czech Republic. It is most often used by students, seniors, and women taking care of small children.
