Contraceptive behavior of women in Czechia
A new leaflet with the results of the “Contemporary Czech Family” study focuses on the contraceptive behavior of women in Czechia. The analysis shows how this behavior changed between 2008 and 2022.
When do Czech women and men experience important reproductive milestones, such as the birth of their first child or their first sexual experience? This is the focus of the latest leaflet with the results of the “Contemporary Czech Family" research.
The age at first sexual intercourse is gradually decreasing across generations – from 18.2 years in the generation of women born 1951-1957 to 16.2 in the generation of women born 1997-2004. On the contrary, the average age at the birth of their first child is increasing – from 22.2 in the generation of women born 1951-1957 to 27.6 in the generation of women born 1977-1982 (the last generation of women, which, given their current age, can be considered women with almost completed fertility).
